Event Description:

A series of six virtual classes*, taught by Lisa Boyd, Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and Lactation Consultant. Each class is designed to teach expectant parents about the labor process and birth experience.
Class 1: Intro to series, Hospital specific info, prenatal care, pregnancy development, stages and phases of labor.
*Class 2: Natural Childbirth: Comfort measures, hands on support, breathing techniques.
*(Meeting in person as permitted by Covid mandates, tentatively starting March 2022)
Class 3: Medical procedures: Inductions, medication options, Cesarean sections.
Class 4: Immediate postpartum period: What mom and baby do prior to discharge from the hospital.
Class 5: Breastfeeding, Baby Friendly guidelines, Outpatient clinic options.
Class 6: Infant care and safety, review of choking/Infant CPR resources, car seat safety and more.
